Morley was named Wells Fargo Gold Star School Morley School received the WELLS FARGO GOLD STAR SCHOOL AWARD May 2005
The school improvement goal at Morley has been to improve student achievement in reading comprehension. This goal has been supported first by a strong belief-that every child can learn, that every staff member is a significant force in the learning of each child, and that every parent, volunteer, and neighbor help each child become attracted to learning. The Morley faculty and principal have implemented the effective practices of focus on clear goals and objectives, appropriately grouping students for instruction, careful use of school time, and continuous monitoring and assessment of learning. Morley is a high-achieving school, and in the past three years, the achievement of student learning in reading comprehension, as measured by the Metropolitan Achievement Test and the district's criterion referenced tests, has become even better. This award provides $7,500 to the school.
