School Supplies
Lincoln Public Schools provides all essential supplies needed by your student for the school year. However, there are some optional"extras" that are requested by teachers for use in individual classrooms.
Kindergarten: A box of tissues for classroom use.
Grade 1: Backpack (labeled with child's name), 1 box of Crayola markers, 2 glue sticks, 3 yellow #2 pencis, 1 or 2 boxes of Kleenex tissues, 1 or 2 kid/family magazines (used for cutting pictures).
Grade 2: A box of tissues for classroom use, a bottle of antibacterial soap, plastic pencil box (5" x 8"), watercolor markers, colored pencils, writing pencils.
Grade 3: A plastic or cloth bag...with a zipper...to hold supplies (not a pencil box), two #2 sharpened pencils, a good eraser, one set of markers (optional), 1 box of tissues for classroom use, a small bottle of hand sanitizer (example: 2 ounce size of Germ-X), a three hole pocket folder that is durable, a three ring plastic binder that is one inch thick. NO pencil boxes, NO mechanical pencils, NO pencil sharpeners, please.
Grade 4: #2 pencils with erasers, colored pencils (12 to 24 colors), set of multi-colored highlighters, 2 pencil pouches, 1 large spiral notebook, 3 spiral notebooks (1 each of red, blue and green), a 3-ring binder (1" white with clear pocket cover), 1 package of loose leaf 3-ring notebook paper, 1 or 2 sets of tabbed divider pages (7 tab minimum), 1 expandable accordian folder (6 pocket minimum), a paperback dictionary (i. e. Webster's Complete), 2 rolls of scotch tape, a box of tissues for classroom use, a box of disposable drinking cups (i. e. Dixie), an art sketch/drawing pad.
Grade 5: pencils, four or five spiral notebooks (70 pages, wide ruled, approx. 15 cents each at Target), a box of tissues for classroom use, a checking pen or pencil. NO big binders, NO Trappers, NO accordian folders.
