Minutes from the CCC (Community Curriculum Council)
February 2005
Through the years, Morley students and families, along with staff
members, participate in and contribute to many worthwhile causes, including
the following:
- Spirit Team organized a drive for hurricane
disaster victims.
- Contributions given to the Red Cross for the Tsunami
disaster
- Persian Music Concert
- Second grade students created a quilt
(which was displayed at the Federal Building in Lincoln) for Black History
Month.
- The Spirit Team organized a Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive for the
Food Bank in Lincoln.
- A Mitten Tree was filled for children at Lincoln's Friendship Home
(a home for abused women and their children).
- The families at Morley filled many barrels of food which were donated
to Lincoln's Food Bank in March.
- The recycling project throughout the year at Morley (spearheaded by
the Spirit Team) has saved hundreds of trees!
- 13 members of Morley's sister
school in Taiwan visited.
- Care packages were collected by staff and students for a school in
Guatemala. The packages were personally
delivered by Mrs. Jean Bergholz (grade 2 teacher) to Guatemala.
- Teachers prepared and served food for The Gathering Place (soup kitchen)
in Lincoln.
