FEBRUARY CALENDAR IS ATTACHED
A CHIRP OF KNOWLEDGE “We cannot always
build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.”
Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882-1945) 32nd President of the United
States..
On behalf of the Morley staff, I would like to thank each of you for
taking the time and deliberate focus to conference about your child/ren.
We have almost realized 100% participation in conferencing. Your partnership
and involvement in education is so alive and evident at Morley!
STUDENTS During these winter months, when we
all huddle together to stay warm, what could be more important than
friendship? Third grade students in Mrs. Smith’s literature
class, wrote compositions on FRIENDSHIP IS COOL AND IMPORTANT.
WHAT IS A TRUE FRIEND? By Molly A.
I think a true friend is someone who says that if you want to try something
new you should go for it. They help you when you need help.
Like in the winter, when it is slick, you should go slow and hold hands
so you won’t fall. Friends stick together and help each
other. Friends can trust each other and have kind hearts.
If you know a friend that laughs at you, then maybe he or she is not
a real friend. You should go to a true friend you really trust.
You would be pretty lonely without friends. That’s why you
should choose friends carefully.
FRIENDS by Madison W.
Friends are some of the most important things in life. So is being
a friend. Qualities I would want to see in a friend are honesty,
loyalty, silliness, optimism, and kindness. I have lots of friends
like this, and you should, too. One of my friends like this is
Sophia. Just being around her, cheers me up when I’m sad.
It is, also, important to have long-lasting friendships. Charlotte,
in CHARLOTTE’S WEB, was a great example of a true friend.
She did everything she could so that Wilbur wouldn’t die.
If you have good friends, you will always be happy.
WHAT THE WORLD IS LIKE WITHOUT FRIENDS by
Jack C.
What is life without friends? Well, to me, there would be no purpose
to live on Earth, if you had no friends. For example, it’s
like a banana split with only the banana! Then the banana would
want to be eaten. I am honestly speaking from the heart about
having no friends. There would be no happiness in the world without
a friend.
AND, SECOND GRADE STUDENT, MAGGIE W, WRITES ABOUT HER WISH
FOR PEACE..”I have a dream, and that is to be a second
grade teacher until I retire. Then, I will make a book, HOW
TO BE A PEACEMAKER. First, when I am a second grade teacher,
I will tell my class not to be mean to others. And, that’s
what I will do.”
STUDENTS ARE REALLY GOOD FRIENDS AND HELPERS
FOR PRINCIPALS AND COORDINATORS, TOO!

 |
I personally can tell you that I would never
have made it around the rink, last Monday night, without the help
of students..and friends! As you can see, Sara, Katie, and
Kali, took very good care of their principal! |
While Mr. Naumann certainly is a fine skater,
many student friends enjoyed his help and…received help. Pictured
are Amiya, Maya, Mallory, and Jackson, enjoying the PTO sponsored
roller skating party with Mr. Naumann. |
