All fourth grade homerooms are heterogeneously grouped. Students with varying abilities are instructed together in spelling, writing, and penmanship. Each quarter, the same groups of students rotate, at three week intervals, through units of study that cover Nebraska, the United States Regions, as well as in Science and Health units. Each of three teachers presents a specific unit to all three homeroom classes.
Fourth grade students are ability grouped as differentiated, high achieving, or on grade level learners for reading and math instruction. Students move to various classrooms during these two instructional periods according to the designated teacher for each academic group.
