The Resource Room at Morley serves students from Kindergarten through 5th grade. Our first duty is to help children who have been identified with a disabiity. These disabilities include developmentally delayed, mentally handicapped, autistic, behaviorally disordered, learning disabled, and other health impaired.

Service to these children may be provided by a pull-out program where the child receives individualized instruction in the subject/s where they need additional help, or the service may be given within the regular classroom with the resource teacher and the regular education teacher team teaching a subject area.

The type of service given depends on the student's needs. When working in the classroom, the resource teacher helps other students besides those identified. Non-identified students may come to the resource room to get special help as well.

Another purpose of the resource program is to test identified and non-identified students and give classroom teachers feedback of instructional ideas that might be beneficial to students who are struggling in a particular area. The Resource Room is also a "warehouse" for materials (often things discarded by others), especially manipulatives, that all teachers can use.
