Chinese New Year
On February 16, an assembly was held in recognition of the Chinese New Year, which begins on February 18. We received beautiful cards from students in our sister school, Minglun, Taipei City, Taiwan. These cards were distributed to Morley students during the assembly.
Part of our assembly included Kokyo Taiko Drummers from the Asian Center. We are so thankful for a donation from one of our families, so that we could experience the drummers, a part of the Chinese New Year celebration. We did learn from Madam Chiung-Yun Chen, Principal of Minglun School, that they, also, have a Chinese drum band. We will send them a copy of our assembly and include the drummers performing at Morley.
Some Morley students will be helping and sharing during the assembly. To the right, is a picture of Tienye, fifth grader and Annie, first grader, who will be wearing attire indicative of that worn during the festive Chinese New Year celebrations.
