Morley's Team Mate program is designed for fourth and fifth graders; we currently have a number of student and TeamMate pairs. Tom and Nancy Osborne started this program in 1991. This is a one-to-one mentoring program that matches adult volunteers with students. The volunteers come from local businesses and community organizations and serve as positive role models for students. The adult Team Mate agrees to have regular, weekly contact with the youth TeamMate at school, during school hours. Activities during this hour vary and are based on interests of both TeamMates. Each adult TeamMate receives training and background checks before their names are given to the schools.
