Ventures in Partnership (V. I. P.)
Morley has partnerships with a number of local businesses.
Each business works with our staff and students in a unique way.

Amigo's - Several "Family Fiesta Nights" are held to help raise money for designated projects at Morley...sponsored by Amigos. All the Morley families are invited to eat at Amigo's on a particular night (usually one in the fall and one in the spring), and then 15% of the sales of the evening are donated to the school. To help out, teachers work as waitresses/waiters and bus persons.
Hy-Vee (70th & Pioneers) helps out with special projects by providing food items at reduced cost and coupon books for fund-raisers.
Lincoln Benefit Life partners with the entire student body through e-mail buddies, and they also donate countless items to the school that their business no longer needs. LBL employees collect and donate Campbell's labels and General Mills boxtops for Morley's fund raising drives. Fifth grade students get the opportunity to "shadow" LBL employees every spring. In addition, LBL helps with a school wide Junior Achievement program.
West Gate Bank is our new neighbor and VIP. They are available to give presentations on economics, banking and related topics, such as figuring interest. They will be acting as a collection site for Campbell's labels and General Mills' box tops. They will also share supplies (such as pencils and rulers) with our students.
Colby Ridge (70th & Van Dorn) is a V.I.P. that helps Morley at our events. Thank you to another one of our great V.I.P.s!
The Lincoln Journal Star Newspaper...
Newspapers in Education (NIE) is a nation-wide program to promote and increase our children's literacy by using the newspaper as a teaching tool. Championed by the Lincoln Journal Star, NIE is a unique way for schools, businesses and the local newspaper to work together in a partnership that benefits all of us - now and in the future. Through the use of daily news, editorials, features and even advertising, students at all grade levels learn math and cost comparison skills, geography and meteorology, history, as well as current events and how they shape our world, all while improving reading and comprehension skills. In summary, the NIE program helps motivate and teach students with a textbook as fresh as each day's news.
